When she’s not teaching in the studio you can find her capturing moments as a photographer or traveling the world.
Laura is on a mission to advance more of what matters in the world - more of what’s good for people and the planet. She's always been an active person, but, at the age of 15, she was diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease. It was a devastating blow when doctors told her that her spine looked like that of a 70-year-old, that she would never have a day without pain, and that she would have to stop the distance runs and other activities she loved if she ever hoped to regain feeling in her feet and legs. Laura credits Pilates with decompressing her spine and nearly eliminating the pain, tingling, and hopelessness she’d felt. In 2010, Laura became a Pilates instructor to help other people experience the kind of "toe touchable” mornings and days of limitless possibility she'd discovered through Pilates. When she isn’t at the studio helping people get the most out of life, Laura can be found running, doing yoga, and branding and marketing all kinds of good causes - from small businesses and towns to billion dollar fundraising campaigns and even nonprofits organizations - through her company Urgently Good. She’s always ready with a crisp high-five and believes all things in life, including Pilates, require dedication, intention, motivation, and a sense of humor.
"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." – Nelson Mandela Jessica is an Army veteran with 10 years of service, getting out with the rank of Sergeant. Discipline is a key element to her success in training others in fitness and in her every day life, no matter her pursuits. Creativity is also paramount to who she is, in and out of the Pilates studio. Her workouts are challenging while keeping the room light but still energetic. She grew to love guiding others in fitness while being a certified Pole Fitness instructor, which she still actively teaches. “Watching people get stronger, witnessing the transformation in their confidence and self acceptance, overcoming the fear of trying new things or of even the limitations of who they thought they were the day before – THAT’S why I’m a fitness instructor. It’s an honor to be a part of people’s fitness journey.” Jessica completed 500 training hours for her Pilates certification. Outside of Pilates and Pole fitness she is also an active musician. Her original band, Honey Spot Blvd, has been together for since 2003. She’s a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and lyricist in the band. You can expect encouragement and challenge, discipline and light heartedness and an overall good workout whenever you come to any of her classes.
As a horse trainer, Carrie always recommended pilates to all her students. It is a great way to improve balance and body control essential for everyone, not just riders. After Carrie joined Club Pilates Flemington as a member, it seemed natural for me to teach Pilates myself. She enrolled in the Club Pilates teacher training program, and now she enjoys seeing people gain confidence in their daily lives through the strength, coordination, and focus that comes with practicing Pilates.
